WORLD WILDLIFE DAY :: today the world comes together to celebrate World Wildlife Day, an annual event that honors the world's wild animals and plants and raises awareness about the importance of their conservation.

The Leckhampton Group is extremely proud to support Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust as Corporate Partners in their efforts to manage and restore the vital woodland habitats within the county.

We see this partnership with GWT as critical to our continued commitment to reducing our Carbon Footprint and the overall impact our day to day operations have on the environment.

This is particularly poignant for our joinery operations and by supporting the great work GWT is doing with its various tree planting schemes we are able to further offset against the sustainable timber products @leckhampton_joinery are using in their bespoke joinery and cabinetry projects.

Gloucestershire’s wildlife is under serious threat on two fronts.
Climate change is driving nature’s decline, while the loss of wildlife and habitats leaves us increasingly unable to adapt to the changing reduce carbon emissions. The next eight years are critical in determining the future of our precious wildlife.

GWT’s new strategy identifies three goals to halt and reverse nature’s decline, protect our wildlife and help it flourish. It’s an ambitious promise, and one they will only achieve by working together with communities, landowners, farmers and partners.

OFFICE UPDATE :: we’re excited to share our newly fitted bespoke reception desk made from reclaimed floorboards by @leckhampton_joinery

The new office space was a much needed central base for the group to bring together expanding management and design team all under one roof!

We recently had @nespresso.uk visit us to demonstrate a state of the art coffee machine for our new kitchen to provide refreshments for our visitors and thirsty team - who like their coffee very strong 💪🏻

PEOPLE :: meet Jack Taylor, Head of Contracts for the Leckhampton Group!

In his role as Head of Contracts, his day-to-day focus is on working closely with our team of Contract Managers, chairing weekly internal progress meetings to ensure efficient project planning and implementation of works. This is carried out alongside his own direct project responsibilities.

Jack works closely with our Joinery Managers to plan production schedules and ensure clear coordination between the workshop and our active sites.

He is heavily engaged with overall group strategy in commercial planning, procurement, training, and new business development including tenders and pre-construction.

Key aspects of his role are being a key holder to client relationships and working closely with architectural and structural practices to deliver our projects.

“Every day is different at Leckhampton Group and I really enjoy the variety of my role. While we strive to have robust structures in place, we know that challenges we come across can always be dealt with effectively by working together as a team.

We work with a fantastic and dedicated in-house team and supply chain of contractors and local building merchants to deliver our client’s brief.

CONSERVATION & LISTED BUILDING :: The Cottage is a Grade II Listed residential property in the Cotswolds that is thought to date from 1531, although only fragments appear to have survived from this period with the main fabric of the building dating from Circa 1690.

We were employed as main contractor on this project with a brief to restore the property and its original features while creating a functional and modern living space.

Original Oak Staircase, Elm floorboards, Crittal windows, brass and pewter ironmongery and stone flagstones have all been retained and restored to their former glory all helping to tell the story of the houses hay day.

NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK :: today we are shining the light on Toby Fyfe our Construction Management Apprentice who attends Gloucestershire College 1 day a week.

Many of our staff joined the company as apprentices and through support and career progression are now fully qualified tradesman!

We believe in creating a working environment that our staff can continually develop and to that end offer extensive training to ensure we are able to continually carry out work to the highest standards of safety and quality.
