Vittoria House

Vittoria House Cheltenham

More Info

Vittoria House formally known as Hygeia House is a grade II Listed Georgian Villa situated in the heart of the Regency Spa Town of Cheltenham. Holding great significance in Cheltenham’s development as a thriving Spa Town Hygeia House was built in 1807 By Henry Thompson Forming part of the then Montpellier Estate. The original Montpelier Spa started in this house, where Thompson first dispensed mineral waters from wells in the basement. As part of our restoration works to the property including extensive works to the basement, we discovered 3 wells and many other important historical features.

Instructed as Main Contractor on this project Leckhampton Builders have sensitively restored and converted this Grand old building from offices back to one single private residence as it’s original purpose. The scope of works included full external repairs to the ashlar façade, Doric columns, and copper roof. Internally structural repairs were carried out to safeguard this imposing structure and a sensitive restoration of the original internal features carried out alongside installation of modern technology to ensure the building functioned as a modern family home.
