We’re Bringing King’s Water’s Historic Buildings Back to Life

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that we’ve been chosen by Bewley Homes to restore the Grade II listed buildings at the heart of King’s Water, their flagship 75-acre lakeside development in Ashton Keynes.

This is a very special project for us, and one of the most exciting we’ve taken on. These beautiful Cotswold stone buildings were once a boys’ boarding school, and they’ve stood empty for more than 15 years. Being trusted to bring them back to life, and to write the final chapter of King’s Water, means a huge amount to our whole team.

A landmark restoration

From the outset, Bewley Homes set out to create a development that respects the history of the site as much as it does modern living. The listed buildings sit right at the heart of King’s Water, and restoring them properly was always going to be central to that vision.

That’s where we come in. We’ll be sensitively restoring, converting and transforming the buildings into four distinctive homes, each up to 5,000 sq ft, creating a striking centrepiece for the completed development. It’s exactly the kind of project we love: taking a building with real history and character, and giving it a future.

Why this matters to us

Heritage restoration is one of the luxury building services we do best, and it’s one of our most passionate endeavours. As a family run business with deep local roots, we understand how important it is to handle buildings like this with care, patience and respect for their history. These aren’t just four homes we’re creating, they’re a legacy for the people who’ll live in them for generations to come.

Our Managing Director, Chris Thorne, put it perfectly:

“This is a very special project and one we’re incredibly proud to be involved with. These listed buildings deserve a thoughtful, sympathetic restoration, and we’re delighted that Bewley Homes has chosen us to complete this important final chapter of King’s Water.”

And as our Head of Contracts, Sam Thorne, added:

“Our team is passionate about preserving historic buildings and showcasing their character while creating homes designed for modern living. We look forward to starting work later this summer and transforming these landmark buildings into four truly unique homes that people will enjoy for generations.”
